Whether you want to spend time with family and friends on the open seas or set forth on a solo cruise, the BAVARIA CRUISER 33 was designed to satisfy your every need. Besides excellent sailing performance, the CRUISER 33 offers you unexpectedly generous space in the cockpit and – more importantly – below deck. Here the crew will find a saloon so comfortable and spacious that they would be forgiven for thinking they were sailing a much larger yacht – as many journalists have already commented during testing of the CRUISER 33. Farr Yacht Design and Design Unlimited have worked hard to maximise interior volume and ergonomics above deck, across the entire range, and the CRUISER 33 is testament to this design brief from the BAVARIA yard.

It is not uncommon to see a double berth with the dimensions of a king size bed in the guest cabin of a 33-foot yacht. But only a CRUISER 33 will offer you corresponding headroom, a great deal of movement and storage space to boot.

Quality

Mast base, cleats, blocks, winches, stanchions, cockpit windows, hatches – the list of components that belong on the deck and in the cockpit of a CRUISER 33 is long. A CRUISER 33 has over 40 items that the BAVARIA product managers factor in. An efficient deck layout is the result of the many years of experience of the product managers, designers and boat builders at BAVARIA. Each piece of equipment has its proper place on the deck – it is installed to the exact millimetre where it is most effective for handling the yacht. In the construction of the deck, loading analysis dictates where aluminium sheets are laminated in crucial areas of the sandwich construction for extra strength in loaded areas such as where winches are mounted. Computer-controlled milling and drilling ensure that positioning is precise.

Cockpit

The cockpit is where many a happy hour is spent aboard the CRUISER 33 – tasting the freedom of the sea while out cruising, or back in the harbour watching the sun go down at the end of a perfect day of sailing. The yacht is comfortably helmed from the ‘high’ or the ‘low’ side and the long cockpit seats are ergonomically shaped for a comfortable sitting position when sailing and even a relaxing lying position! The swim platform on the CRUISER 33 has generous dimensions – 4 square metres, in fact, allowing ample space for a dip in the ocean when you drop anchor. However, we know that a swim platform serves more than just one purpose: back in the harbour it is the entrance to the cockpit, the loading point for supplies, an area for inflating the dinghy and an extension to the cockpit for when for the crew to get together after an exhilarating day of sailing. It is engineered and constructed with all these functions in mind. In the overall design of the CRUISER 33 , Farr Yacht Design not only paid attention to getting an efficient hull form but also in creating a construction and lamination schedule that enables BAVARIA to build a strong and sea worthy yacht, with an excellent finish.

Lighting

In order to optimise lighting, the CRUISER 33 makes use of a sophisticated lighting design consisting of three skylights, newly designed flush windows in the coach roof, two hull windows and two windows in the cockpit. High quality blinds offer ample protection when the sun gets too bright or extra privacy is required. The hatches and windows are designed in such a way that it is not only the light that can be adjusted according to need – ventilation in the CRUISER 33 is controlled by opening and closing the hatches. All hatches and windows can be opened to various degrees in order to let exactly the desired flow of air into the two cabins, the head and the saloon.

Extras

An air conditioner or a heating system on a 33-foot yacht? On the CRUISER 33 this is no problem and can be added as an optional extra during construction. Chart plotter, navigation electronics and a sound system – all of it interfaced and user-friendly: these are just some of the many options that the product managers at BAVARIA have sourced from the best manufacturers in their respective fields and optimised for the CRUISER 33.
